Did You Know...

... that Rotor Out won the 7th national 4-way title in Australia last week?

Original Rotor Out lineup
posted Jan 15th, 2015 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 23 April 2014 that Rotor Out won the Australian Nationals 2014. Today's update is the same news one 4-way season later. Rotor Out defended the title successfully last week.

There was still not much competition for the defending champions. However, there were still interesting changes. The same story in April 2014 mentioned that none of original team members (Steph Bensley, Jens Goennemann, Gary Nemirovsky, Darren Pearson, with Darren Griggs on camera) were in the current Rotor Out lineup any longer.

This has changed since Stephanie Vaughan is back and competed at the national championships. George Attard was not available, and she joined her husband Craig Vaughan for a very special occasion: Rotor Out posted a new Australian record for a single round with the 29-pointer in Round 5.

Rotor Out at the Mondial Dubai 2012
Stephanie and Craig Vaughan had also owned the previous highscore that they posted together with Gary Nemirovsky and George Attard (Patrick Nygren on camera) at the Mondial Dubai 2012, and they improved it after six training jumps with last weekend's lineup before the competition.

Rotor Out had competed with Craig Vaughan, George Attard, Simon DiSciasio and Rob Thomson (Dan Rossi on camera) for Australia at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 last August, and the meet average was very similar taking last week's Super Sequence in Round 5 into the equation.

This year's 4-way title is the 7th consecutive national gold medal for Rotor Out since the team was founded in 2009.

Rotor Out's 2014 lineup
The closer look at last year's leaderboard of the world meet in Prostejov also has some interesting aspects from the Australian view. Rotor Out ended up in the same position on the leaderboard where the 2012 lineup finished in Dubai - the 9th place.

Two other teams (eX3MO and Paratec-Saar) were also jockeying for a slot in the finals at both events and were both done after Round 9. Rotor Out ended up once again directly behind the German team but outscored the Italians in Prostejov. Those three teams all had different lineups in 2012 and 2014. Bardagi from Sweden did not come back in 2014, and UK team Vision 99 took the top spot of the four semi-finalists.

Rotor Out does not have a plan yet for the next season, but it would not be a surprise to see the Aussies back at the world meet in 2016...
