Very fast judging pace at Paraclete XP
posted Feb 2nd, 2013 -
The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2013 is in full swing, and it is very challenging to keep up with the action. The turnaround times at this wind tunnel competition are very short.
The fast pace is possible due to an extremely experienced judging panel. Kirk Verner, Brian "BK" Krause and Tim D'Annunzio are using stop watches and their very fast and sharp eyes to get the scores up and posted before the next round begins. They don't have much time since there is barely half an hour between the rounds.
The competition draw was posted this morning at 7 am, the flying sessions began at 8 am, and four rounds were completed and the scores posted at 10 am. Eight rounds are scheduled for today.
The new Arizona Airspeed lineup with Chris Farina in the Point slot was expected to be on the top of the leaderboard. Thomas Hughes said that he had approx. an hour of wind tunnel time with his new piece partner.
New Airspeed alternate Thiago Gomes is also competing at Paraclete XP. He is in 2nd place with his pickup team of world class competitors. Thiago Gomes, former Airspeed Point Josh Hall and his former Perris Fury team mate Uli Steuwe have last year's Vive member Don Burnette in the Just In Time lineup.
Don Burnette's Vibe team mate Mikhail Markine is competing for the first time with SDC Rhythm XP. Both former Vibe members have no problem to perform on the very top level, as the videos are showing. Solly Williams is filling the Center Inside slot for Rhythm, as Christy Frikken is missing the first meet of the year.
