Did you know that M4trix won the Dutch 4-way gold medals last week?
posted: Aug 23rd, 2015 The Dutch Nationals 2015 were completed after ten rounds on the island of Texel last week, while the 70 British 4-way teams are trying to complete their own national championships in Hibaldstow.
There were no surprises in the Netherlands. The 4-way experts of the Dutch 8-way team M8trix (Jaap Keuter, Leon van Leeuwen, Leander van Schriek, Mechie Voermans, with Kjeld van Druten on camera) won easily with the team's best outdoor average of 15.5 after ten rounds. Did you know that the DeLand Falcons presented a special Crank in Round 4?
posted: Aug 21st, 2015 Last but not least, the Rookie Class teams from the Northwest and the Florida Skydiving League had their own battles last weekend, as well, and the Rookie Class leaderboard was actually the only one where each team claimed or tied a highscore for a round.
NWSL team Low Key and FSL team DeLand Falcons were racing for the top spot on the leaderboard, while Ritzville Sundown (NWSL) and Group Therapy (FSL) eventually finished tied in 3rd place.
Low Key was the only Rookie Class team who had attended a meet prior to last weekend's events this year and improved the meet average from 3.8 to 5.3... (more)
Did you know that Monaco Vitalsea won the 5th French 8-way title?
posted: Aug 20th, 2015 The French Nationals 2015 included an 8-way competition that a total of four teams completed after five rounds. The national championships in France have only the AAA/Open Class category for the 4-way and 8-way teams, while the Coupe de France events also offer the AA/Intermediate Class competition for more teams.
Three of the four teams at the nationals had attended Coupe de France events earlier this year. Monaco Vitalsea and 8way Otter PCP competed at each of the three 8-way meets, bronze medal winner 8MBI Maubeuge attended the July meet before competing at the nationals last week.
Did you know that two Northwest A Class teams fended off DeLand 3D?
posted: Aug 19th, 2015 Last weekend's A Class competition featured the same battle between teams from the Northwest Skydiving League and Florida as in the AA Class competition.
It was an interesting draw with several overlapping sequences, which allows teams to compare their own scores with teams in the next higher category. AA and A Class teams had two identical sequences in Rounds 2 and 3, while two Rookie Class sequences in Rounds 1 and 5 were identical with the A Class.
One of the strongest Rookie Class teams in the country last year, DeLand 3D, had these two rounds to complete an 8.6 average in the team's... (more)
Did you know that the World Cup showdown in 4-way Women is just around the corner?
posted: Aug 18th, 2015 The situation in 4-way Women at the FAI World Cup 2015 is very different compared to the expected 4-way Open Class competition that the Sun Path Products NSL News covered with the first preview on August 14th.
NMP-PCH Hayabusa will most likely walk away with the gold medals, and serious battles can only be expected for the other medal positions and the slots in the semifinals and finals.
The teams in 4-way Women don't have to worry about making all ten rounds or not. The small field guarantees each team a slot in the finals, at least according to the registration status in July. However,... (more)
Did you know that Northwest and Florida battled hard in the AA Class?
posted: Aug 17th, 2015 The French 4-way teams had the AAA Class leaderboard for themselves last week, and there was not much serious competition for the top spots between the three medal winners. That was completely different in the AA Class, where teams from the Florida and the Northwest Skydiving League had two tight battles for the 1st and the 3rd place.
The first duel took place between the JOES from the Northwest and DeLand Flashpoint from Florida, and it ended with a 2-point advantage for the DeLand team. The videos of both teams are showing how it happened.
The JOES and DeLand Flashpoint are both trying... (more)
